Acts chapter two tells of a most remarkable day in history. It was the birth of the Church, the beginning of the Last Days, the fulfillment of the prophet Isaiah's word that the Servant of the Lord (Jesus) would make Israel a "light to all nations" as the Gentiles would receive the Good News (Isaiah 49). In the Upper Room on that Day of Pentecost, every believer was filled with the Promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit, and began to worship God in other tongues. This 'gift of tongues' as it is called today is one of the most mis-understood elements of the Christian walk, and has split millions of believers down the middle when it comes to answers to questions like, "What is this gift?" or "Can anyone receive it?" or "What is the purpose or relevance of it?" Listening to this message will do more than teach, it will give you a new way of looking at one of the most controversial subjects of New Testament Christianity. You will discover that what happened in Acts was a reversal of something God did thousands of years ago at the Tower of Babel, and both the prophets Zephaniah and Joel prophesied of something awesome coming to us in the Last Days. You will discover that God has offered freely this gift to hungry souls in every generation of salvation-history, and that it enables us to function uniquely in concert with the Spirit of God who dwells within us. If you already utilize the gift of tongues in your prayer life, you will inspired as to the 'why' and 'purpose' of it; or if you are open to seeking this unique gift and learning more of it, you will surely find it is yours for the asking, even in this late hour of Church history.
